About SCI Bayou City

Safari Club International Houston Chapter is dedicated to protecting the freedom to hunt, promoting conservation, and supporting communities both locally and around the globe. As a chapter of SCI, we bring hunters, conservationists, and outdoor enthusiasts together to advocate for wildlife management, ethical hunting practices, and the preservation of our outdoor heritage. Through education, charitable efforts, and strong advocacy, we work to ensure that future generations can experience the same hunting traditions and wild places we cherish today. Whether you’re a lifelong hunter or simply believe in responsible conservation, SCI Houston welcomes you to stand with us.

Seth Stokes

Seth Stokes

President Elect
Seth has a passion for teaching youth about gun safety, hunting ethics, manners and respect. Because of this passion, he is a 4-H Youth Shooting coach for Rifle, Pistol, Archery and Hunting & Wildlife. This allows him the privilege of helping some youth take their first shots ever and show them that shooting and hunting isn’t really what they hear about in the media. In addition to that, he is also a Basic Air Rifle Instructor for the SARP (Student Air Rifle Program) which brings air rifle safety and usage into public schools. He is a volunteer TPWD Hunters Education instructor and is active with multiple other hunting and outdoor organizations such as Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF), Friends of the NRA, Royal ISD FFA, National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) as well as a Board Member of the Pattison Area Volunteer Fire Department. After selling his printing company in 2025, Seth is now an 8th Grade Entrepreneurship teacher and is raising two young shooters and hunters, handing down a passion for the outdoors and hunting.
RL Cook

RL Cook

Chapter VP
Growing up in rural Kansas, hunting, fishing, and conservation were a way of life. I earned my hunter safety certification at age 10 and quickly fell in love with the outdoors. Since then, I’ve supported organizations like Pheasants Forever, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and became a life member of SCI—all with the same purpose: protecting hunting rights, preserving wildlife habitat, and getting the next generation involved. That passion is why I’m proud to be part of the SCI Houston Chapter, where the camaraderie and values truly reflect today’s outdoor community and our commitment to putting hunters first.

Aidan Stokes

Aidan Stokes

Director of Youth Programs
Aidan “The Hunter” may be the youngest board member ever appointed to a Safari Club International Chapter. His appointment wasn’t simply to set a record—Aidan earned it. After several years of volunteering and serving on a committee within the chapter, the Board of Directors invited him to join as Director of Youth Programs, recognizing both his dedication and the valuable youth perspective he brings to the organization’s activities. At just 12 years old, Aidan is a deeply passionate hunting and shooting sports enthusiast. He began shooting at age five and started hunting the following year. Since then, his interest has grown into a true pursuit: he is a competitive benchrest rifle shooter and actively competes in 4-H three-position rifle, pistol target and silhouette, archery, and shotgun sporting clays. He has even stepped into the fast-paced world of pistol steel challenge competitions. Aidan is also a 3-time International Big Game Hunter. In 2024, while preparing for a handgun hunt with a .44 Magnum revolver, he ultimately chose a .45 Long Colt for its more manageable recoil and improved shot consistency—an impressive, mature decision for such a young sportsman. His achievements have earned him numerous honors, including a Youth Hunting Achievement Award from the SCI Houston Chapter, multiple Youth Hunting and Photo Awards from the Houston Safari Club Foundation, and the Youth 3 Milestone from Grand Slam Club/Ovis in 2026. In May 2025, Aidan was invited as a featured youth speaker at the Texas Handgun Association annual conference, where he shared his thoughts on the differences between hunting with a handgun versus a rifle. Known online as “Aidan The Hunter,” he documents his adventures on Instagram and has even hosted a podcast under the same name—an experience that has helped him develop his voice, confidence, and communication skills.
