Aidan Stokes
Director of Youth Programs
Aidan “The Hunter” may be the youngest board member ever appointed to a Safari Club International Chapter. His appointment wasn’t simply to set a record—Aidan earned it. After several years of volunteering and serving on a committee within the chapter, the Board of Directors invited him to join as Director of Youth Programs, recognizing both his dedication and the valuable youth perspective he brings to the organization’s activities.
At just 12 years old, Aidan is a deeply passionate hunting and shooting sports enthusiast. He began shooting at age five and started hunting the following year. Since then, his interest has grown into a true pursuit: he is a competitive benchrest rifle shooter and actively competes in 4-H three-position rifle, pistol target and silhouette, archery, and shotgun sporting clays. He has even stepped into the fast-paced world of pistol steel challenge competitions.
Aidan is also a 3-time International Big Game Hunter. In 2024, while preparing for a handgun hunt with a .44 Magnum revolver, he ultimately chose a .45 Long Colt for its more manageable recoil and improved shot consistency—an impressive, mature decision for such a young sportsman.
His achievements have earned him numerous honors, including a Youth Hunting Achievement Award from the SCI Houston Chapter, multiple Youth Hunting and Photo Awards from the Houston Safari Club Foundation, and the Youth 3 Milestone from Grand Slam Club/Ovis in 2026.
In May 2025, Aidan was invited as a featured youth speaker at the Texas Handgun Association annual conference, where he shared his thoughts on the differences between hunting with a handgun versus a rifle.
Known online as “Aidan The Hunter,” he documents his adventures on Instagram and has even hosted a podcast under the same name—an experience that has helped him develop his voice, confidence, and communication skills.
